I took D to the orthodontist this morning to get the appliance installed in the roof of her mouth to correct her cross-bite...and she's been slurping ever since.
After school I took C in to have more blood drawn to run even more tests. While there, my dr. saw me and asked if I had gotten the results from my ultrasound. I told him that I had and that I had gone in for my consult, but the images were unavailable at that time. So, he informs me that I have masses/nodules/growths on both sides of my thyroid. Oh yay...now I get to have needles stuck in both sides of my neck. This will be done on Friday the 13th (good thing I'm not superstitious).

Trying to think happy thoughts.
Soooo...for C they ruled out anemia and mono, then had me bring her back in today to draw more blood to check her insulin. Praying that it isn't diabetes. Hoping it's just "winter blues" and slow recovery from the flu and bronchitis she had earlier this month.
As for me, I get to have a biopsy on my thyroid on Wed. and am trying to not freak out. Reading about it online has not helped. There is everything from "I didn't feel a thing," to "It was the worst pain ever and my throat was swollen and sore for days after." The good thing is that only 5% are cancerous (Malignant?) and, even if it is there is a 90% recovery rate. Still...nerve wracking. :(

More doctor visits
D and E had dentist appt's this morning. We got called to go back immediately after signing in, they did x-rays and cleanings and a quick check from their dentist and were out in under 20 minutes. It was nice.
This afternoon C and I had doctor appt's. I have felt crappy since July and it's getting really old. The next step is getting an ultrasound of my thyroid (I was going to write "getting my thyroid ultrasounded, but I don't think that's a word) tomorrow. He also gave me a couple of meds to try.
C has been feeling horrible since the beginning of the month when she had bronchitis and a horrible flu (I know, because she gave it to me). So, they drew some blood and hopefully it's nothing major. She just has no energy and has dark circles around her eyes.
So...back to the waiting game.

Waste not...
I have had a nasty flu-type sickness the past few days, hence the kids have been running amuck. Luckily for them (and me) hubby skipped class last night and made them dinner. As for Sunday's dinner, I couldn't even tell you what they had because I was so out-of-it.
Anyway, last night, after they were all in bed, I figured I'd take some nightime cold & flu medicine and go to bed early. I opened the fridge to get something to wash down my pills and what do I find? A cup of milk with oreo cookie goo floating in it. Seriously!?! Are you saving it for breakfast? Maybe an after-school snack? I mean, if you aren't going to drink it when you have your cookies, don't bother saving it. Sheesh! Why don't you just go drink some water from the gutter while you're at it.

Childish Antics
So, as I'm driving to pick up kids from school, I see a 9ish year old girl crouching over the gutter with water flowing down it from the melting snow. Her older brother, I assume, is standing next to her laughing and a younger girl is walking away, wiping her face with her shirt. EEEEEWWW!!! They were drinking gutter water!!! Nasty!!!
My kids would never do anything like that!!! Right?
